Here is another Miscanthus that is a great choice for a waterwise garden. This ornamental grass has thin variegated leaves so it looks light green. It doesn't get quite as tall as some of the other Miscanthus; maybe 4 or 5 feet, and a bit shorter in part shade. In the morning and the evening, it seems to catch the light shining through it, making it glow!
