Shasta Daisies!

Another old-fashioned favorite!  Shasta Daisies  - (Leucanthemum) only last a week or two when they flower, but they sure are stunning when they put on their big show in July!  The tall varieties like 'Alaska' tend to get too tall and flop over when they bloom.  Shorter varieties like 'Silver Princess' and 'Snow Lady' are better.  Selective deadheading will bring a few more flowers later in the summer.  The first photo shows how mass planting, even in a small garden, can create a dramatic effect.
