Trimming Ornamental Grasses In Salt Lake City

The garden crew at the LDS Church Office Building in downtown Salt Lake City was trimming the ornamental grasses (Karl Foerster grass) this morning.  This is a technique I have not seen before!  They were making their way through a tedious and tough job at a good pace by using a line trimmer to cut the bunches of grass that had been tied up beforehand.  The result was nice, evenly cut bunches and tidy tied bundles of grass that could be picked up easily and tossed away.  What a great idea!
